Clear as a bell

First time I have had two days off in a row since Easter and what a time to do it! We have had the clearest weather in HK over the last week or so since we arrived three years ago. Views from the apartment over Tai Tam Bay have been spectacular and the view over the Harbour from my office has stretched beyond the Kowloon Hills. It reallly shows what you are missing when HK is bathed in its usual murk from the Mainland.

With the clear weather we have also had the Summer's first severe heat warnings - 36 degrees apparently at Stanley Beach yesterday - we were busy getting a parking ticket at Big Wave Bay (although apart from the ticket it was a great afternoon although I don't think I have ever seen the beach so crowded).

The weekend therefore very much revolved around the beach (Stanley on Saturday) although I went to Main Stret on Saturday evening to watch England get thumped again by South Africa. Unlikley to be England's year in the World Cup I fear.

Returning to Blighty next week for a flying visit for Mum's 80th, M's 40th and N's 4th birthday so we have busy buying presents and cards. I will then return to HK (possibly in time for the last of the Dragon boat racing) whilst the rest of the family spend the Summer in England - at least it wil give me a chance to catch up on some exercise (potentially!).
